Senator Franken lauds consumer protection rule
After a several-year effort led in large part by U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.), this week the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a rule to limit the chronic overuse of “forced arbitration” clauses in consumer financial products and services contracts, which include agreements for credit cards, checking accounts, payday loans, and private student loans.
